DAILY NANCY UPDATE #8

Greetings.

This is the eighth in a series of DAILY NANCY UPDATES I will be posting until the amazing Nancy Neufeld Callaway is in full remission and we have kicked her leukemia on its ass.

BREAKING NEWS

Not a lot to report today - since it's basically a "resting" day before Nancy has to start another round of chemo tomorrow. So she's trying to take it easy, catch up on some writing, see a few visitors, and gear up for another chemical assault. She did enjoy some "bodywork" therapy this morning (thanks Diane!) which was all about creating positive visualizations for the microscopic war she's waging. Hell, with an optimistic attitude and active imagination like hers-- she should have no problem devising all sorts of creative ways to send her unwelcome guests permanently packing.

HEADLINES
Grrrr...

Even Zingo the Wonder Dog knows something is up. He's listless. Occasionaly lethargic. And he follows me around everywhere I go-- laying next to Nancy's side of the bed all night. But the boys and I are doing everything we can to reassure "Nancy's best buddy" that everything's okay and she'll be home very soon.

TODAY'S HURDLE

Aside from Round 2 of chemo tomorrow-- there's a possibility Nancy may have another bone marrow biopsy today or tomorrow-- this time centered on her spine. Doctor Caspian Oliaie, who performed the last biopsy of her hip, swears this one will be swifter and less painful. But we're understandably anxious about it-- so your stress-relieving, healing thoughts are greatly appreciated.

POSTSCRIPT

I went to the doctor myself today-- (thanks for squeezing me in, David!) just to help kick the last remnants of my cold to the curb so I can get a pass back to her room and our conversations won't be limited to FaceTime. I'm way too impatient for this kind of thing-- every kind of thing, really. But as me and the boys keep telling each other-- this isn't about us. It's all about the most important woman in our lives.

WE LOVE NANCY AND WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.
