DAILY NANCY UPDATE #111

Greetings. 

This is the one hundred and eleventh in a series of DAILY NANCY UPDATES I will be posting until the amazing Nancy Neufeld Callaway is in full remission and we have kicked her leukemia on its ass.

WEDNESDAY REPORT

The Sunshiny Superwarrior Goddess clearly wants out. 

She took four or five walks out of her room today. She also went to a chair yoga class, where she introduced herself to everyone as "Nancy, a writer and mother of three kids." And during a walk to the beautiful sixth floor lobby with me and her friend Karen-- she sat down and played "The Entertainer" on a piano, while I did everything I could not to cry.

But that's not all. At the height of her alertness-- she also cracked a very funny joke with a recreational therapist who was evaluating her for more activities tomorrow. 

"Where'd you meet your husband?" he asked. 

"In prison," she replied, without hesitation. 

"What was he in for?" he said with a knowing smile. 

"Sodomy," she answered, flatly.

Look, I know these posts must seem like some kind of schizophrenic rollercoaster ride to any of you still regularly reading the blog at this point. And believe me, I know how you feel.

But no matter how much back and forth there may be... I'm telling you... I've never seen anyone work so damn hard to get well in my life.

WE LOVE NANCY, and...
