Greetings.
This is the one hundred and tenth in a series of DAILY NANCY UPDATES I will be posting until the amazing Nancy Neufeld Callaway is in full remission and we have kicked her leukemia on its ass.

TUESDAY REPORT
Nancy's new neurologist Dr. Chilian basically explained it to me this way.
Some days you're in a good mood. Other days you're in a bad mood. And after a massive seizure like Nancy had-- you can easily keep going back and forth between the two until your brain finally decides to relax.
And that's basically what Nancy did today. This morning when Dr. Forman paid her a visit-- she was barely awake and not in the mood to talk. Then right after he left, she hopped out of bed (which is always tricky, since her balance isn't that great yet), walked to the chair, then back to the bed, then ate a full breakfast in very good spirits.
Unfortunately later, when her nurse needed to draw blood-- she wasn't terribly cooperative. Then during the neurology visit, she was talkative and pleasant-- even if she can't for the life of her remember who the President of the United States is (perhaps the only blessing of her memory loss).
But when a tech came to administer another bedside EEG-- in spite of me patiently prepping her beforehand and even showing her pictures I took of the last one (which she peacefully slept through)-- Nancy completely ran out of patience about halfway through the test (which is critical for determining which anti-seizure meds to start taking her off), lost her cool, and started giving the sweet tech all kinds of hell.
In short, after being stuck in the same building since May 29th-- I really think she's completely had it with being in the hospital. But the Catch 22 is-- we can't send her home without a cleaner bill of mental health.
That being said, at least the neuropathy in her feet improved enough today for the Sunshiny Superwarrior Goddess to be able to take a walk around the ward with her Physical Therapist...
And thankfully, between the help and attention of our dear friend Rikki, and a much-needed conversation with my brother-in-law Glenn-- I was able to keep my own head screwed on straight, too. Well, for the most part, anyway.
Look, the bottom line is-- we're just not quite out of the woods yet.
And sometimes, in spite of Nancy's incredible progress over the past almost-month since her seizure... some days suck. Some days rock. And some days do a little of both.
Nevertheless... WE LOVE NANCY, and...
ALL IS WELL!
